How the day actually works

Four ideas guide every hour here.

Individualized Attention

Every child is welcome here, including children learning three languages. We individualize care for every one of our children.

Whole-Child Development

Talking, climbing, sharing, counting, settling down after a hard moment. It all counts as learning here.

Play-Based Learning

We follow the Creative Curriculum, which day to day means books, blocks, paint, music, and a great many questions starting with why.

Family Partnership

You’ll hear how your child is doing before you have to ask. If something needs a specialist’s eye, we say so and help you find one.

A structured day with room for flexibility. Doors open at 8:00 with table activities and free-choice play, then breakfast, outside time, circle time (calendar, weather, stories and songs), music and movement, and lunch around midday. Nap or quiet time follows, then an afternoon snack, more outside and free play, and pickup by 5:00. It is an example of a typical day and may vary with the children’s moods.

We specialize in the Montessori method: child-led, hands-on learning with real materials at a child’s own pace. Spatial toys such as blocks, puzzles, shape sorters and building sets are part of every day, building early math, motor and problem-solving skills through play.

Guidance leans on encouragement, modeling, discussion, and problem-solving.
